lab-int1#MSc-2012_On the Road is now ready

The work undergone by students deal with the refurbishment of a dismissed Milanese petrol station that was designed and built in the beginning of the 50?s by Mario Bacciocchi. The building represents a very precious heritage for the city and for its owner, Eni S.p.A. As we started to research about the history of the building, and the company, we realized how intriguing this project might become if all the issues around it will be taken into account…

Ma(se)-Riabitiamo by Laura Di Donfrancesco e Martina Guandalini (POLIMI, June 2012)

Ma-(s)se-riabitiamo è il risultato di una ricerca volta ad indagare il patrimonio edilizio rappresentato dalle masserie all’interno del territorio leccese. Il progetto parte dal presupposto di trovare una soluzione al problema diffuso dell’abbandono di questi manufatti, che a sua volta genera numerose conseguenze dannose all’ambiente, all’agricoltura e alle comunità contadine che abitano questi territori. La masseria, da sempre, rappresenta un esempio di architettura agricola che instaura un rapporto biunivoco ed indissolubile con il territorio circostante.

IP Bologna I Team 04 work

During the two weeks in Bologna for the IP Creating a Context workshop we – Team group 04 – finally realized a work consisting of both a physical installation and a video projection.

The work focused on Bologna graffiti dealing with the theme of the un-listened voices of bolognese citizens (didn’t matter if Italian, toursits, students, etc.): voices with no sounds, as re-presented in the video interviews edited in the city centre asking invited speakers to deliver a free speach without using the voice in front of our camera corder.

At the same time, in the gallery space of House of Front, where the final show was arranged, together with the video sequences there was also an installation realized using white building blocks of gasbeton.
