collACTION
Collective Actions – a Collection of participated practices
CollAction is a research project involving also a Bachelor degree thesis: a Collection of bottom-up initatives dealing with the relation between architecture and society. The main thread is the concept of participation, together with the spontaneous creativity and the horizontal exchange pratices.
Each action will be described through an ID and a process’ overview, arranged in categories and examined by a plurality of indicators (temporality, social impact, sustainability, professionist’s presence…). A map contestualizes every project, that is also provided with a photogallery and the research references.

Every now and then it seems possible to decipher a new pattern in work already accomplished: a pattern thrown into a relief by present concerns. These fresh insights lance through the body of work, showing, as it were, another grain; enabling us not only to take fresh pleasure in what we have done – but more importantly- to draw the necessary from our corpus of work in order to proceed. This reconsidering of a body of work is not unlike a prism, this way and that, so that catching the light differently, we see fresh colors.

Costruire condizioni perché le qualità della città siano diffuse e presenti anche in contesti distanti dal suo centro è un obiettivo ambizioso. E’ come immaginare una città senza periferie.
A partire da una ricerca e da alcune esperienze, presso il TeatroLaCucina, discuteremo della necessità di una visione d’insieme e non settoriale dei fattori e delle condizioni che consentono di fare città e società. Tre città (Torino, Milano e Trieste) alimenteranno con le loro esperienze la discussione.
Jacques Donzelot, tra i più importanti sociologi francesi contemporanei e attento studioso delle città, terrà una lezione di apertura a partire dalle sue ricerche sulle trasformazioni della società urbana e sulle politiche che negli anni sono state sperimentate per la riqualificazione delle periferie nelle città francesi.

Rotten Utopia is a film concerning Robin Hood Gardens and its residents. Robin Hood Gardens is a 1970s brutalist social housing estate in East London. A campaign was mounted in 2008, by the architectural press, to list Robin Hood Gardens. This was to save the building from the council’s plan to knock it down. The estate is it is on valuable land that would be perfect for redevelopment as it is located close to Canary Wharf and the Olympic Park.

Work In Progress I è solo il primo passo per l’apertura del Gogol’Ostello, che a breve aprirà le porte di tutti i suoi spazi, che oltre al CafTè con cucina comprenderanno percorsi espositivi per mostre ed eventi, spazi ricettivi con camere e servizi, punti multi-mediali ed un piccolo giardino per l’orticoltura e il relax.

Spring Semester 2013 at POLIMI

Oggeto del lavoro di quest’anno sarà il complesso residenziale dei Robin Hood Gardens (1966-1972) di Alison and Peter Smithson che l’amministrazione comunale di Londra ha deciso nel 2009 di demolire per la cattiva condizione statica, igienica e sociale del complesso.
Il laboratorio, dopo una fase ricognitiva sui dati materiali e culturali legati all’immobile, affronta l’ipotesi di un progetto di recupero e riqualificazione per uno dei capolavori del brutalismo britannico.
Durante il laboratorio è stato programmato un ciclo di conferenze sul lavoro di APS a cura degli arch. Michela Bassanelli ed Enrico Forestieri.
