TOKYO-TO APARTMENTS
Housing units for commuters
[by Valentina Cocco, 2007]

The project develops minimal housing units for commuters in Tokyo, reinterpreting the city’s micro-voids as opportunities for densification. Using the tatami as a modular matrix, the units adapt to the small site conditions through light structures and compact service blocks. The aim is to propose an essential and flexible dwelling model able to activate the interstitial spaces of the contemporary city.
