“And all around… trees.”

The UniAtelier consists in the planning of a residential building, with wooden constructive system X-LAM. The typology is of a single-family dwelling for an use of 4 people in an extra-urban context, located in Sulzano, Province of Brescia. It is residence that is though of for artist couples, for a weekend away or a long vacation. Elegance, symmetry, tall energetic performances are the key words in the project. The UniAtelier is divided in two floors: the ample zone day develops in the ground floor while the zone night to the first floor. A large living room in the ground floor with high glazed windows meant to capture the maximum sunlight possible , then two bedrooms on the upper floor, each bedroom with a large window to be able to enjoy at most the surrounding landscape and assuring high energy performances. The terrace on the first floor gives the appreciation of nature closely. Even the kitchen, is irradiated by natural light from a door that is in connection with the outside where there is the outside table and the garden. The stairway looks lighter with its glass balustrade and wooden steps, and the same wood used for the floor in the night zone and day zone to create continuity of the flooring from one room to the other. Space is optimized in the most beneficial way possible: like the staircase to be used as a wall closet and there are other spaces for closets in bedrooms and for cupboards in the kitchen. Space is optimized in the most beneficial way possible: like the staircase to be used as a wall closet and there are other spaces for closets in bedrooms and for cupboards in the kitchen. This house will exploit the covering in wood to preserve the native construction from the atmospheric environments in each season of the year; it will also exploit a plant of mechanical ventilation checked with recovery of heat. In the interiors the lines and spaces are clean. Great glass door positioned around four angles to exploit at the most the solar radiation. On the outside there is a small art studio for the artists to do their art; it has wide slide glass doors with the view of the lake Iseo. The large patio with smoothed cement paving emphasizes the link created with a beautiful green lawn and olive trees in the surroundings.
